I Nolie do solemnly swear to create more Netflix family time!
Life is short. Too short! You blink and your kids are 3 years older. We spend so much time taking care of life that we seldom stop to enjoy it. Especially with school back in session with all our life duties by the time we can sit down and relax the kids are in bed sleeping as they have school tomorrow. That is why I am making it my goal to take more time to spend as a family. There is no reason why we can’t curl up as a family and watch a show before bed. Especially when we have Netflix. There is always something to watch and enjoy as a family.
First up on my list for my family is Netflix’s newest release, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events. From watching the trailer I know my entire family is going to love it. Add in popcorn and some cosy blankets and we will be all set. Oh and some chocolate for mommy. Got to have the chocolate.
Of course, there are many other fantastic shows to watch as a family. My personal favourite being Fuller House (season 2 now streaming). My boys love Trollhunters and I don’t mind it myself either. Seriously though with a catalogue of more titles than you can think of there is always something to watch as a family on Netflix.
Looking for a show that will also open up the table to talk about important subjects with your kids?
Like the sitcoms of our past used to bring families together, One Day at a Time (now streaming on Netflix) begs you to bring back the trend with its laugh out loud humour, but more importantly, it’s very relevant teachable moments that can help you broach tough topics with your family. Topics such as sexuality, PTSD, immigration and family economics.
Will you join me in creating more quality family time before bed with Netflix? What will be the first thing you watch as a family?
