Ultimate Blog Party 2012

Another year and another blog party courtesy of two of my favourite ladies. I wasn’t going to participate this year as I have been in a blogging funk but have recently realized why and have decided to do something about it. A great summary of what to expect here is actually in that post called Why Do You Blog?

So here I am sitting here at 2:30 in the morning with a bitchy baby beside me who refuses to sleep and reading the party posts of some of the wonderful blog I read and felt left out. So here I am doing my party post and deciding to participate. I think it may actually be good for me.

So who am I? Well I am Nolie and I am a SAHM to two wonderful boys. Big Brother is 4 and in his first year of kindergarten and Little Brother was born on Halloween. It has been quite the adjustment becoming parents to two kids after only having the one for 4 years.

Two of my favourite things to blog about on a weekly basis around here are Wordless Wednesday and Facebook Funnies Sunday. If I had to sum my blog up quickly it would be a mommy blogger who also likes to help other bloggers. I keep meaning to get back to my huge list of posts I have in draft on blogging tips.

Anyways I hope you stick around, I love getting to know other bloggers. I have formed some pretty awesome friendships thanks to the Ultimate Blog Party.

  1. I’m glad you decided to join in. I’m also glad you figured out your blogging funk, I had a funk a while back and couldn’t figure out why – and realized it was I don’t like my WP theme – it was to much work to change so instead I just got over it.

    • I had the funk as well twice. First time I did a complete makeover myself. Second time Little Brother was born in the middle of my makeover so paid someone else to finish it off for me. A fresh look really can make a huge difference.

  2. I’m kind of in the same boat – I’ve had the blogging blahs for a while and am hoping actively participating in the UBP will help me out of them!

My brother and I were a little less than five years apart and I grew up having him as my protector, idol, and best friend. I bet your two boys will be the same :o )

    • I am thinking it will reengergize me as well. As long as I don’t try to visit every single person as it will just overwhelm me. I am following the 10s rule. Visit blogs 3, 13, 23 etc then move to say 5 or something.

  3. I am glad you decided to join the party. You have a great blog here and I look forward to reading some of your blogging tips. I had (adopted, actually) my second when my first was almost five. So, I hear your pain. Our third came along eighteen months later. If you have a third, I can tell ya that adjustment was easier, as far as numbers were concerned. Adjusting to a child with attachment difficulties? Now that was a different story.

    Glad to meet you!

  6. I think people are too hard on themselves with Blogging funks. It’s OK to take a break when you need to. Blogging can be taxing on the mind and on your time! Glad you joined the party. :)

  9. Hi Nolie! I follow you on Twitter, and I’m glad you joined the UBP this year! I don’t really miss the 2:30am baby days (or should I say NIGHTS) but there ARE a lot of things I DO miss about when my kids were babies like that. Don’t wish to rush through it– it goes fast enough! My youngest is 10 now and I can’t even believe it’s gone by so fast. Nice to “meet” you!

  10. I would hazard a guess that going from 1 to 2 kids is the biggest adjustment there is, but I could be wrong ;) Happy Partying!

  11. Hi, Nolie! I’m glad you joined in too, because if you hadn’t you wouldn’t have left such a nice message on my blog and I wouldn’t have gotten to see YOUR lovely blog and adorable children. You said you feared having twins — I have to tell you, I have often though over the last 1.5 years that in a way, having twins is probably easier than having two children at different ages…having one up multiple times in the middle of the night while the other sleeps through ain’t no picnic, I’m sure. Glad you’re over your writing funk — I, too feel the pressure to post frequently but I think you and need to get over that. After all, it’s other moms reading our blog and they, of all people, should understand! Thanks again for your kind visit and have a great UBP week!

  12. Oh my! I have you beat. I have an 11 year old, twin 8 year olds, and a new baby born Jan ’12. Ahh! That 8 y ears has changed me in positive and negative ways, lol. I like a mom that Keeps it REAL! You seem like that mother! So, I am a new follower. Found you courteous to UBP ’12! Check me out, I might not be AS hilarious, but I am sure you will enjoy!

  13. Glad you solved your funk. I think we all go through those times.

  14. Your site is great I love your sense of humor:) I really liked the cartoons on pregnancy and the call with the telemarketer lol its funny to mess with em sometimes;)

  15. hello, stopping by from UBP. i love that this allows me to find new bloggers to follow.

having a kids is hard; i only have 1 that i can barely keep up with and i really don’t know how those with more than 1 do it. they must be geniuses.

  16. I’m glad you decided to join in! I agree…having a second baby was hard to get used to, and I thought the first one was hard!

The party’s almost over; hope you get a chance to stop by! Ultimate Blog Party 2012
