What I Miss About My Old House

When Tobei and I first moved in together the place we rented came with no appliances. We had to supply all our own. So we hit up the stores and went shopping for everything that we needed. Fridge was no problem however the selection of range cookers was insane, almost overwhelming.

We ended up choosing one that I always wanted. Had the flat glass top so was super easy for cleaning and didn’t have to worry about spills all that much. I loved the stove, even the timer on it was super handy.

Then we moved into our current place. They provide the stove and it is a gas stove. I do not like it. Let’s not even talk about the fact that it was manufactured in like the 50’s. It is so small. We have had tons of issues with the pilot light going out. When we had them come look at it they cleaned off the pilot light area and said if it happens again they will replace our stove. With another 1950’s one since the space it is super tiny and I am sure they will just pull one out of an empty unit.

Thought I love being back home with friends and family I am looking forward to the day we move and I get MY range cooker backer and can kiss this sorry excuse for a stove good-bye.

I have an electric stove and I love it. Sure, it’s old – but it works. My parents have a gas stove over at their place and they have issues with their pilot going out all the time, too….and their stove is new.

I bought a home with a 1959 stove and oven…that was the first thing I replaced! I love my glass top stove, it makes cleaning up so much easier!

It was hard for me to go from learning on gas to moving to electric. I couldn’t wait to get back to IL to get back to cooking on gas. I ended up with electric and actually prefer it. I would totally love a double oven, though!!!

I can feel your sentiments. I love my kitchen and spend a lot of time cooking there, so I would be extremely happy working with an oven that makes my life comfortable and my cooking efficient! Hope you get your heart’s desire fast!
