I have not posted Red Friday in a very long time. I wanted to bring this weekly show of support to the attention of my readers again. Now that I have new readers who have not seen this and readers who have before it is just a gentle reminder. I hope you are wearing your red today.
What is Red Friday?
Red Friday is a way for Canadians to show our troops and their families that we support them. It is about showing our pride, gratitude and appreciation. When we have lost a soldier it is a way to show their families that they are not alone and our thoughts and prayers are with them. Yes our words can do the same but while wearing red we can say it all without saying a word.
Please remember to wear red today. It really does mean a lot to those you are showing support for. It is not about supporting the war. It is about supporting the soldiers and their families. Those who signed up and those who love those that are serving to protect your freedom and country.

Of course. You can even try to spread the word to wear red to support the American troops. A movement was once started in the US to try to get it going but the public shot it down due to the message the movement had. Up in Canada they changed the messae and the public welcome wearing red with open arms. Check out my post http://www.noliesplace.com/blog/2010/04/red-friday-ladies-part-1/ for more information on how it started here in Canada.
