Big Brother’s First Day of Kindergarten

The day I have been looking forward to yet worried about all summer finally arrived last Thursday. Big Brother has started kindergarten. I totally meant to blog sooner however life has been crazy busy to say the least over the past week.

In true Big Brother style he was excited and all ready to go to school. The night before I picked out his clothes, labelled them all and got his lunch bag and little water bottle labelled. By the time I woke up the next morning Tobei and Big Brother had already been up for awhile and eaten breakfast. I ate mine and then started getting him ready for school.

Of course we took the obligatory photos of a picture with me, then a picture with Tobei and then a picture of Big Brother himself standing in front of the door. It was then time to leave to go to the bus stop and Big Brother decided it was a race.

Of course he won the race since mommy was busy taking pictures and walking pretty slowly in her pregnant state and Tobei was walking right beside me. We got to the bus stop with a few minutes to spare which was perfect timing. The bus came and Big Brother went to go on the bus without giving me a hug and kiss. I don’t be thinking so child. I got my hug and kiss and then watched him board the bus, find a seat and wave good-bye. I then watched the bus pull away as tears fell down my face. My little baby is now officially a big boy.

He is only in school half days so was back home at lunch. He rode the bus like a champ and did not get out of his seat until the bus came to a full stop. He then got off the bus said “Hi, mommy where’s daddy?” and took off running for the house. Totally ignoring the fact that I was trying to ask him how his day went.
